I'm not sure if this shepherd lives in a yurt, but he is wearing a fabulous felted kepenek shepherd's cape to keep him warm and dry while tending his flock.
I learned to make felt at college by rubbing wet fleece with soapy hands. It is the same technique used by nomads of central Asia to make portable homes.
