Down the street from my grandparents' house is the Drummond Hill Cemetery, site of the Battle of Lundy's Lane during the war of 1812. It is filled with beautiful old headstones, some so worn from the elements that their dates are hard to read. I learned that the first burial at the cemetery was in 1799. Always up for a climb, my dad, Emma, Kate and I all scampered up the biggest tree we could find.
