Quilting Weekend, April 2013

Last month, my sisters and I joined a wonderful bunch of quilters to finish up the piecing of a quilt we're making in memory of our mom, Laurie. The quilt is made using pieces of her favourite blue shirts  with pops of colour delivered by fabric belonging to her quilter pals.

It was a weekend of fun, overindulgence and nutty masks. Checkout this post from our last gathering.

English photographer James Mollison travelled the world photographing where children sleep and then compiled them in a book. He says of the project:

“I hope the book gives a a glimpse into the lives some children are living in very diverse situations around the world; a chance to reflect on the inequality that exists, and realise just how lucky most of us in the developed world are.”

Josephine out of doors

Spring is here, and that means sidewalk chalk, hula hooping, and outdoor bunny time. A group of passing children seemed delighted to watch Josephine the rabbit climbing all over me as I read a book in the front yard this morning.
